Josephine M. “Josie” Siudzinski, 99, Glenmore resident, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at a local hospital. She was born on June 18, 1919, in the Town of Red River to the late Arthur and Laura (Routhieaux) De Bouche. Josie married Chester “Sam” Siudzinski on May 22, 1940 at St. Odile Catholic Church in Thiry Daems. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before Sam passed away on September 29, 2008. Josie and Sam operated the family farm in Pine Grove for many years. She was also employed at the Denmark Press until her retirement. Josie was passionate about many things such as sewing, baking, gardening and playing cards but bowling was at the top of her list until the age of 96. She bowled in many state and local tournaments and acquired trophies and awards too numerous to mention. Following retirement, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of learning how to play the electric organ. She still met with some of her classmates on a monthly basis to continue practicing. Many families and friends will miss her famous rhubarb torte, Thanksgiving pumpkin pies, custard pies and other “sweet” treats.

Survivors include her two sons, James Siudzinski and Daniel(Gloria) Siudzinski; two grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Kalina and Kurt Siudzinski and his friend Stephanie; two great grandchildren, Matt Verstoppen and his friend Helen and Ashley (Colbi) Jones; three great great grandchildren, Silas, Odin and Valor Verstoppen; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her three sisters: Ida (Julian) Renier; Emma De Bouche and Anna (Alvin) De Moulin; one brother, Henry (Verna) De Bouche; her in-laws: Annie (Jack) Pieschek; Felix (Frances) Siudzinski; Steve (Clara and Katherine) Siudzinski; Peter (Alice and Julia) Siudzinski; Mary (Clarence) Pasterski; Hattie (Peter) Boerschinger; Millie (Aaron Fine and Mel) Heyn; Applonia (Milton) Dahms and Harold (Gertie and Angie) Siudzinski.
