Karla K. Krueger, 83, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, December 30, 2018.  She was born September 16, 1935, in Shawano, to the late Hiram and Frances (Kolpack) Carley.

Karla graduated from Bowler High School, Class of 1953.  She was very active in school band as a drum majorette with the Drum and Bugle Corps. She participated in school plays and was her class valedictorian.  Karla later attended U.W. Stevens Point for three years, majoring in home economics.  On June 30, 1956 she married Lee Krueger at St. Pauls’ Lutheran Church in Bowler.  He preceded her in death on August 28, 2013.  Karla and Lee were founding members of Pilgrim Lutheran Church of Green Bay.  Together they were very active members of the church where Karla taught Sunday School, and prepared food for events and social gatherings.  Karla and Lee where also very instrumental in the establishment of the second Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Suamico.

For Karla, sports were her passion.  She never missed a Packers, Brewers, or Badgers game.  In fact, she scheduled her life around sports.  She especially loved watching college football and basketball.  Karla could talk sports with anyone and had a very deep knowledge of most sports.  She enjoyed spending her time reading, playing games on her iPad, occasionally going  to the casino, spending most of her time at home, and all the simple pleasures of life.  Karla loved to cook for her family, and always gave her time for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She never judged and will be remembered as a peacemaker.

Karla is survived by her children, Kay (Kirk) McClure, Tami (Kevin) Pieschek, Cindy (Bill) Webb, Kurt (Kim) Krueger; her grandchildren, Cassie (Chad), Nick, Crysta (Chris), Cody (Katelynn), Kendyl (Nate), Josh (Nicole) Tera (Ben), Kortney, Karlee and Kaden; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Jase, Graysen, Barren, Emma, Grayce, Paige, Evelyn, Ryder, Koda, (and one more on the way); brother-in-law, Bill (Betty) Krueger; sister-in-law, Nancy Carley; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lee; her parents; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Jessy; brother, Bob (Mary) Carley; sister-in-law, Peggy Krueger.
