John Kessey Burrows, 85, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019.  He was born on October 2, 1933, in Beloit, WI, to the late Floyd and Lucille (Tyrrell) Burrows.

John graduated from Green Bay West High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Pittsburgh.  After the service, John started his career at Charmin/Proctor and Gamble where he worked for 34 years, retiring on his 55th birthday.  He rose through the ranks at Proctor and Gamble starting at the bottom and worked his way into management. After retiring, he worked as a tax  consultant at Pierre Sweeney Law Firm in Seymour.  On June 10, 1978, John married Yvonne Liesch.  When Yvonne retired, they moved to DeLand, Florida where they spent 6 months of the year, and summers in Sturgeon Bay.  They loved this lifestyle for 15 years.  During this time, they traveled with his two brothers,  Jim (Marion) and Bob (Florence), and their friends Charlie and Jeanne Briggs.  Together they visited 33 countries.  John was an avid Packers fan and was at the Ice Bowl.  He was a competitive card player, an excellent golfer, enjoyed coin collecting, ice fishing with his friends from Proctor and Gamble, bird watching, catching squirrels, and had started a dart ball league with St. Paul United Methodist Church.

John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Yvonne; their 12 children, Daniel (Maria) Burrows, Diane (Mike) Miller, Ronald (Cathy) Burrows, Barbara (Steve) Derenne, Kelly (Kurt) Van Der Wegen, Lawrence (Lori) Burrows, Kenneth Reed, Thomas (Teresa) Burrows, Kevin (Karen) Reed, Douglas (Glenda) Burrows, Timothy (Terry) Reed, Nicci (Larry) Hall; brother and sister-in-law, James (Marion) Burrows; his brother-in-law, Butch Liesch; sisters-in-law, Esther Liesch, Delores Liesch; 28 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Florence) Burrows; mother-in-law, Viola Liesch; brothers-in-law, Donald Liesch, Vernon Liesch.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E.
