James Waldon Josephson, 84, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, February 11, 2019. He was born in Ironwood, MI, on February 16, 1934, to the late Wally and Mary (Groleau) Josephson. He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Marinette. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army until his Honorable Discharge. He graduated from Michigan Tech with High Honors and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. On August 7, 1954, Jim married the former Mary Costello at St. Anthony’s in Marinette. He worked for Procter & Gamble for over 30 years as an engineer. He also served on the Board of Directors for P&G Credit Union. Jim enjoyed being a little league baseball coach, working his way up to the commissioner of the league. He was a volunteer for Brown County Human Services, receiving many awards for his countless hours of help. Jim enjoyed spending time at the rink being a goal judge for the Green Bay Bobcat’s and Gambler’s hockey games. He and Mary were faithful members of St. Philip Catholic Church in Green Bay, with Jim also coaching sports for the St. Philip Athletic Club.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Josephson; children, Mike (Gail) Josephson, Kathy (Ken) Vorpahl, Pat (Cari) Josephson, and Tim (Theresa) Josephson; grandchildren, Andy and Amanda Josephson, Leah Jossart, Nic (Sandi) Hermann, Ashley Hermann, and Nina and Jordyn Josephson; sister, Diane (Dick) Sabourin; two sisters-in-law, Edith L. Josephson, and Edith E. Josephson; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Jim and Mary spent many happy vacations in Hawaii, meeting numerous friends, including Jerry and Debby Moretto and special Ohana Kirk Togashi.

Jim was preceded in death by an infant son, Tommy Josephson; brothers and sister, Gerald Josephson, Dennis Josephson, and Marlene O’Hara; brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas Costello and George “Bud” (Ruth) Costello.

Friends may gather at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St, on Friday, February 15, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. until the Memorial Services at 6:30 p.m. Entombment will be in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.prokowall.com.
