Robert Lee Klika, 88, died Monday, February 25, 2019.  He was born October 2, 1930, in Green Bay, to James A. and Esther C. (Curran) Klika. Robert was a graduate of Central Catholic High School (Notre Dame Academy), Class of 1948.  On June 20, 1953, Robert married Annabel Metzler at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.  She preceded him in death on January 21, 2016.   For 41 years he worked as a foreman for Wisconsin Public Service at the Pulliam Plant, retiring in 1991.  He also worked for his brothers-in-law, Ray and Marty Metzler, for over 45 years as a custom home builder. Robert loved the outdoors; enjoying taking long walks through the woods.  He helped the family build their cabins up north, and he loved to hunt and fish.  Robert enjoyed spending his time antiquing, going to rummage sales, and creating repurposed items out of other people’s junk.  Robert was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers, and dedicated a room in his house with all his memorabilia and attended the Ice Bowl.  He was a man who will be remembered as a problem solver who would do anything for anybody.

He is survived by his children; Bob (Barb) Klika, Deb (Roger) Prestine, Mary Sue (James) Faubert, and John Klika (special friend Brenda Lardinois); seven grandchildren, Mike Klika (special friend Amanda Schaefer), Matthew (Kelly) Klika; Brad (Amber) Faubert, Becky Faubert, Tyler Klika,  Kendra Klika (special friend Benjamin Dodge); six great-grandchildren; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; sister, Delores Sylvester; brothers, Sam (Bonnie) Klika, Jerry Klika; brothers-in-law, Clayton Metzler and Martin (Gladys) Metzler; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special friend, John “Jack” Wigman.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Annabel; his granddaughter, Molly Zarnoth; his parents; brother, Wayne (Pat) Klika, brothers-in-law, Raymond (Dorothy) Metzler, Eugene Sylvester; sisters-in-law, Joan Klika, Delores Metzler; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary (Russell) Adrians.

Friends may call at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew Street, on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at the church, with the Rev. Robert Kabat officiating.  Entombment will be in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Robert’s name.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.
