Laurie A. “Willie” Wilmet

Laurie A. “Willie” Wilmet, 53, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at a Madison hospital following a brief illness.  She was born July 8, 1965, in De Pere to John and Marlene (Langenfeld) Wilmet.

Laurie was a graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1983, and NWTC.  She worked at Bellin Hospital for 34 years; the last 20 of those years were as a Unit Assistant.  Laurie also led the Adoptive Family Program for Surgical Services at Christmas time which included coordination of bake sales, shopping, and wrapping of all gifts.  Her true love was golfing and spending time with her many friends and family. She enjoyed sports; playing softball and watching football and racing.  Laurie also worked as a bartender at East Town Pub and Barley’s Pub and Grill.

Laurie is survived by her parents, John and Marlene Wilmet; her two brothers, John (Gwen) Wilmet, Doug (Amy) Wilmet; one sister, Debbie (Scott) Marchant; two nieces, Cassidy Skaleski, Brooke Marchant; step-niece,  Tauna Roberts, and her daughters Tessa and Addison; step-nephew, Joel (Sam) Lemerond, and their daughter Lydia; three aunts, Claudette Cleereman, Mary Knoll, and Bonnie Wilmet; and numerous cousins. 

She was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, with Deacon Darrell Lubenow officiating.
