On October 27, 2019, just ten years after the love of her life passed, Lester H. Lewins, Retha was called home to be with him. She was born on June 14, 1930, in Denmark to the late Harvey and Anna (Hansen) Larsen. Retha was a graduate of Denmark High School. She worked at Larsen Canning Co. for 25 years. On Sept. 30, 1950, she married Lester Lewins at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Retha was a long-time volunteer for the Red Cross and a member of VFW Auxiliary Unit 9617 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 11.
Retha will be deeply missed by her children, Irene Wulgaert (Frank Lindsley), Sandra (Arnie) Rosik, Norma Stommel, Mary Perkins (Don Kappell), Patrick (Terri) Lewins, Ron (Becky) Lewins, and Rick (Sue) Lewins; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Jane Werner; and many other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Retha is preceded in death by her husband, Lester; a granddaughter; 2 great grandsons; brothers, Leonard (Marion) Larsen and Harley (Vicky) Larsen; and many in-laws.
Visitation will be at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, with the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.Prokowall.com.
