Beatrice Jastrow

Beatrice “Bea” Louise Jastrow, 87, Green Bay resident, was called home by our Lord on November 14th, 2019. She was born on June 12, 1932 in Greenwood, WI to the late Otto and Lydia (Damrow) Bruss. Bea grew up in the Spencer, WI area and graduated from Spencer High School in 1950. On June 14, 1952, she married the love of her life, Lloyd Jastrow, in the parsonage at St John’s Lutheran Church-North in Spencer WI.

She and Lloyd moved to Racine in 1952 where she worked for many years at Lathrop Hardware and Unified School District. Together they raised two sons, Terry born in 1954 and Steve, born in 1961. Bea was a faithful member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Racine and a long-time contributor to the Ladies Guild. They moved to Green Bay in 1974 where she worked for New York Life Insurance for many years. She was a faithful member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed the sewing and needle point club making blankets for infants and elderly adults. Bea enjoyed camping with her family in Northern Wisconsin.  She and Lloyd were camp hosts each summer at Lake Tomahawk for 6 years and Anvil Lake for 11 years. Bea was an avid bowler for many years and especially enjoyed bowling in a couple’s league.

Bea is survived by her husband, Lloyd, two children, Terry Jastrow and Steve (Renee) Jastrow; five grandchildren Lori (Brian) Place, Jenny (Adam) Nachtway, Becca (Danny) Pouliot and Aharon and David Jastrow; six great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Karlie and Alex Place, and Victor, Aleiah and Collin Nachtway.

Bea will be greeted in heaven by her parents and her brother and sister in law, Willard and Gertrude Bruss.

Family and friends may gather at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 743 South Monroe Avenue in Green Bay, on Tuesday, November 19, from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Funeral service 4:00 pm at the church with Pastor Paul Schleis officiating. Online Condolences may be sent to the Jastrow family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of floral expressions memorials may be made for First Evangelical Lutheran Church or the American Lung Association.
