Kathryn “Tina” Schuster

Kathryn “Tina” M. Schuster, 62, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away January 29, 2020 surrounded by her beloved children. Tina was born August 14, 1957 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Mercedes (Yost) and the late David Schuster. Tina was diagnosed with an aggressive form of liver cancer in mid-November, and focused on soaking up time with the people she loved the most throughout the holidays and the New Year. She was a brilliant and supportive friend, a compassionate and devoted nurse, and a mother to anyone who needed her.  Her spirit of joy and kindness will be forever missed. 

 

Tina graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1975 and Bellin College of Nursing in 1980. She was a gynecologic oncology nurse with Prevea Health and devoted many years to her nursing career at St. Vincent Hospital, where she advocated for and treated patients with an amazing team of colleagues. She also spent 17 years as an emergency room nurse at St. Vincent, where she made life-long friends. She loved spending time with her kids, sister, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, mother, step-siblings, and friends. She was so special to so many people, and her kids appreciate the outpouring of love, support, and peace from everyone who knew her. 

 

She is survived by her three children, who always came first in her life: Patrick Farley, and his girlfriend, Anna Cerny, Kate Farley and her husband, Carlos Santos, Ross Farley and his fiance, Katie De Wane; her mother, Mercedes Schuster; her sister, Ann (Strauder) Nelson; step-siblings: Kenneth (Dorene) Schuster, Arlene Klika, Jean (Robert) O’Donnell, Gregg (Pamela) Schuster, Rita (Scott) Bills, Warren (Mary) Schuster, Mary (Jim) Reynders; brother-in-law: James (Eileen) Komisarek; nieces and nephews, Maggie (Gabriel) Morrison and their two children, Charlotte and Otto; Beth (Carl Bauer) Komisarek; Andrew (Courtney) Komisarek; Whitney Nelson; Maddison (Max) Seigel; Joshua and Jordan Nelson; Genine (Bryan) Nowak; Monica (Eric) Hanson; Bill (Amberlee) Schuster; Brian (Nicole) Klika; Kyle (Natalie) Klika; Erin (Zebulon) Rehn; Maria (fiance, Sam Cripe) Schuster; Anna (Tyler) Larsen; Allyson (CJ) Guzan; Charlie (Annie) Bills; Brooke and Zoel Schuster; Joshua, Justin, Casey, and Carly Reynders. 

 

Tina was preceded in death by her father, David Schuster; beloved sister, Lynn (Schuster) Komisarek; step-father, William Schuster; brother-in-law, Donald Klika; maternal grandparents Georgine and Mathias Yost; and paternal grandparents Ella and Otto Schuster.

 

Tina’s family and friends will be celebrating her life at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay, WI 54302, starting at 4:00 PM for visitation, with a service at 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2020 with Deacon Bill Burkel officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Unity Hospice staff who helped support and care for their family during this difficult time; Patrick, Kate, and Ross would also like to thank their employers and co-workers for being flexible and supporting them while they cared for their mom.
