Christopher Ray Hunnicutt, age 35, passed away after a long courageous battle against pancreatic cancer on Friday, March 27, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by family.

Christopher was born March 7, 1985 in Waterloo Iowa, and is the son of Brian and Diane Hunnicutt.  Christopher graduated from Southwest High School in Green Bay WI, he was accepted to Berklee College of music Boston MA, attended and taught at McNally Smith in St Paul and earned his bachelor’s degree from Augsburg University in Minneapolis MN.

Christopher traveled the world studying and playing music throughout high school, college and the rest of his adult life.  His passion for music was evident in every show he played and in how he taught and interacted with his students.  Christopher had a knack for making everyone feel special.  He always listened and responded with his whole heart.  Since grade school Christopher excelled in vocabulary and his writings reflected the same.  He loved to use words that would force people to stop and think or maybe even have to look up a word or two in the dictionary.  He was sharp witted, sarcastic and loved to interject humor into every conversation.  He had a love for his family and friends, and they will all miss him dearly.

Christopher is survived by his parents Brian and Diane of Green Bay WI, two sisters and a brother:   Nicki (Nathan) Jeske of Green Bay WI;  Brian Hunnicutt Jr ( fiancé Amy Warrichaiet) of Freedom WI; and Jennifer (Mark) Blaser of Freedom WI.  He is also survived by his eight nephews and nieces – Jonathan, Mason, Evan, Andrew, Cura, Hope, Michael and Sophie.    He is further survived by maternal grandparent Keith Young, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.  (Special shout out to Jacob and Michael Young.  No matter how old they are, they will always be “The three little boys”).

Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bill Hunnicutt and Doris & Robert Orton; maternal grandparent Donna Young, his Uncles Charles Hunnicutt, Don Porter and Kenny Young as well as his cousin Samuel Hunnicutt.

Due to the current pandemic situation (AKA: corona virus), there will not be a funeral at this time.  There will be a gathering for all who knew and loved him to come together to celebrate his life.  The details will be determined and shared at a future date.

So many have inquired as to how you can help.  We would ask that in lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be sent via Paypal friends and family  using this link.   https://www.paypal.me/ChristopherRayLegacy    The money will be used to help offset remaining medical and funeral expenses and to establish a music memorial scholarship at Southwest High School.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nursing staff that cared for Christopher, especially Dr. Tahsildar and his team at Bellin Oncology, Bellin 1st floor south nurse, Erich; Dr. Nohara and St Vincent 6th floor ICU nurses Jody, and Kevin Hronek; St Vincent 7th floor nurse Jayda and our Unity Hospice nurse Alyssa.  You gave us support and comfort when it was most needed.

Buddy, our hearts are broken.  We all miss you so much and are thankful for all of the memories you gave us.  May your broken body now be healed and your heart filled with joy.
