John DePauw

Died on Jul 31, 2020 and resided in Green Bay, Wisconsin

John William DePauw, 75, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. 

John was born August 19, 1944 in Oconto, WI to Alphonse and Natalie DePouw (Belongia). After graduating from Oconto High School, John joined the United States Marine Corp. He was honorably discharged and attended college at UW-Madison where he received a degree in biology.  He married Mary Kathleen Wallace on August 4, 1973, and settled in Green Bay, WI. He continued his education, receiving two bachelor’s degrees from UWGB, in nutritional Science and ecosystems analysis.  John worked as a professional baker for many years. He was well-known for his outstanding cooking and baking creations. John lived a life devoted to his Catholic Faith. He had a great love for the Traditional Latin Mass. He attended daily Mass whenever possible and had great compassion and generosity for the poor and underprivileged. John had a particular devotion to St. Joseph and the Blessed Mother, never missing an opportunity to pray the Holy Rosary.  

John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Mary Kay DePauw; along with seven children, Mary Catherine DePauw of Springdale, Arkansas; John and Narleen DePauw of Eastvale, California; Monica and Jim Merriman of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Michael and Laurie DePauw of Euless, Texas; Christina and Dustin Drew of Edmond, Oklahoma; Daniel DePauw of Goodyear, Arizona, and Thomas DePauw of Goodyear, Arizona; ten grandchildren, Kyra Merriman, Maximilian Merriman, Liam Merriman, Declan Merriman, Theodore Higson, Lucy Higson, James DePauw, Gianna DePauw, Narielle DePauw, and Alenna DePauw. 

He was preceded in death by two beloved grandchildren, Sophia Gianna Higson and Gerard John DePauw. 

The entire DePauw Family would like to extend our gratitude to Reverend Canon Antoine Boucheron of St. Patrick's Oratory for his time, love, and support. 

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.  A Requiem High Mass in the Traditional Latin Rite will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Oratory – Institute Christ the King, 211 N. Maple Ave., with Canon Antoine Boucheron officiating.  Burial will take place in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
