Weert "Rusty" Engelmann, III

Weert J. “Rusty” Engelmann, III, 80, Town of Glenmore, passed away after a short illness following a stroke on Tuesday morning, September 8, 2020.  He was born on January 21, 1940 in Green Bay to the late Weert, Jr. and Geraldine (Gillaume) Engelmann.  Rusty was a 1958 graduate of Preble High School.  On September 23, 1961 he married Mary Ann Kiefert.  Rusty was an over the road trucker for 37 years.  He and his family operated a dairy farm in the Town of Glenmore for 25 years.  Rusty enjoyed going to the cottage on White Potato Lake and riding on the pontoon boat.  He also looked forward to sitting by the campfire enjoying a cold Coors Light.  Rusty worked for Vander Kinter Custom Harvesting for 17 years driving truck, they were more than his employer, they were like his second family.  He was a true handyman and could fix just about anything.  This past Saturday, he and the family were able to enjoy one final picnic together and he even got a sip of an old fashioned and Coors Light. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; children, Michelle (Brad) Witbro, Darren (Leah) Engelmann, Eric (Robin) Engelmann and Curtis Engelmann; grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Heather (Matt) Bennett, A.J. (Dani) Witbro, Jonathon (Emily) Engelmann, Jennifer (Justin) Gow, Evan (Daniella) Wilkerson, Alexus Engelmann and Gabrielle Engelmann; great grandchildren, Rex Ramey, Paisley and Tucker Bennett, Jacklyn Engelmann, Travis Gow and Olivia Wilkerson; sister, Linda Carter; uncle Mick Gillaume; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Donny Carter; and special cousin, Duane Eschenbaum.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 3425 Willow Rd., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass 12:00 noon Friday at the church with Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating.  Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established.
