David J. “Dave” Mencheski, 75, died Friday, October 9, 2020.  He was born April 30, 1945, in Glenmore, WI to John and Martha (VandenBerg) Mencheski.

Dave worked for Proctor & Gamble for over thirty years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Denmark Viking Rescue Squad as a driver for over twenty years. Dave was an avid gardener, loved farming, and tractors. For over twenty years, he played Santa For Ambrosius at the East Town Mall and Bay Park Square. Dave loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing Sheepshead, and attending antique tractor shows in Chilton. Dave enjoyed spending time with his wife Barb. Together they enjoyed going on bus trips with the same group of people for many years.  After retirement they also enjoyed going 4-wheeling up north with family and friends. He had a deep love for his Lord Jesus and enjoyed participating with his church’s Men’s Ministry.

Dave is survived by his wife, Barb; his children, Dan (Jane) Mencheski, Kathy (Andy) Pantzlaff, John (Heather) Mencheski; his grandchildren, Sierra Mencheski, Savana Mencheski, Hunter Pantzlaff, Georgia Pantzlaff, and Zane Mencheski; his sisters and brothers, Mary (Sy) Barrett, Rudy Mencheski, Theresa Douglas, Tony (Marge) Mencheski, Raymond Mencheski, Darlene (Steve) Zeitler, Maria (Doug) Arnold; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Mencheski and a brother, John “Jack” Mencheski, Jr.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  Due to concerns over the current increase in COVID-19, the family requests all visitors wear masks.  The funeral services for David will be held privately on Friday.  To watch Livestream of the service please go to the Proko-Wall Funeral Home Facebook page.
