Wayne A. Woelfel, 63, Green Bay, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on Jan. 18, 1957, in Chilton, WI, to Clarence and Shirley (Timm) Woelfel. Wayne was a graduate of New Holstein High School. He attended Fox Valley Tech for truck driving. In more than 30 years of driving, Wayne logged over one million safe miles. Whether it was through his work over the road, riding his motorcycle, scuba diving, or adventuring with his family, Wayne loved traveling and exploring the country. He was at home in nature, spending time camping, fishing or up North. Wayne was patriotic and respectful of those who have served our country. More than anything, Wayne cherished time spent with family and friends. He would do anything for anyone, especially his grandchildren.
Wayne will be deeply missed by his wife of over 45 years, Laurie; his children, Julie (Keith) Fischer, Doug (Gina) Woelfel and Mark Woelfel (Angie); his grandchildren, AJ, Dominick, Eli, Mason, Samantha, Jenna, Kyle, Sam and Jack; his siblings, Glenn Woelfel (Deb), Gene Woelfel, Bryon (Kathy) Woelfel, Jo Woelfel, John (Vicki) Woelfel and Jeff Woelfel; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan Schmidt, Jan Nett and Gordy Starfeld; and his “adopted dad”, Dick Mattmiller. He was also treasured by many nieces and nephews.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Shirley; Mom and Dad Starfeld; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sheryl Clough, Janice Woelfel, Graydon Schmidt, Donald Nett, Lenette Starfeld, Arlene Schaefer and his “adopted mom”, Jeannette Mattmiller.
Please join us in celebrating Wayne’s life at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay, WI, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Reverend Joshua R.
