Gladys Kroll

Gladys Kroll, 78, Green Bay resident, died Friday, January 1, 2021, at a local nursing home under hospice care. Gladys Mary Francis was born January 8, 1942, in Oconto and adopted at a young age by the late Herman and Elsie (Francis) Schmidt. Gladys attended Sevastopol High School graduating in 1959. Following high school, she continued her education at NWTC where she earned her credentials to become a dental assistant. She married Robert Kroll on April 22, 1961, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay.

 Gladys was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Thornley in Green Bay until moving to the Deckner Clinic where she was a receptionist until her retirement. She was a devout catholic, living and practicing her faith daily. Gladys was an active member of Holy Cross Parish in Bay Settlement for many years and enjoyed her numerous trips to the Chapel. She was a member of multiple parishes as she moved but ended up as a member of Prince of Peace Parish.

 She is survived by her husband Bob and their two sons, Dr. Mark (Kerrie) Kroll, Luxemburg and Daniel Kroll and his special friend, Annie Faust, Green Bay; four grandchildren: Larissa (Adam) Coursin, Jeffrey, Matthew and Taylor Kroll; her in-laws: Mary Ann Ehlers; Tom (Betty) Kroll; Sue Kroll; Bill (Carol) Kroll and Chuck Kroll, all of Door County, nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her stepbrother, Ray Block; two brothers-in-law, Cliff Ehlers and Dick Kroll; sister-in-law, Julie Kroll.

 Per Gladys’ wishes, a private funeral service will be held at Proko-Wall Funeral Home with Deacon Bill Burkel officiating. Burial will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the Kroll family at www.prokowall.com.
