Violet Mineau

Violet Marie (Hayes) Mineau, 92, Green Bay resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at a St Vincent Hospital after a short illness.  She was born on January 21, 1929 in Oconto to the late William and Minnie (Draeger) Hayes.  Violet attended Oconto High School and graduated in 1947.  On June 27, 1953, she married Wilfred “Toby” Mineau at St. Willebrord Catholic Church.  He preceded her in death on May 6, 2012.  She was employed for over 30 years at St. Vincent Hospital.  Vi was an avid Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan.  She especially enjoyed having a brandy old fashion.

She is survived by her children, Janet (Allen) Drewieske, Green Bay; Sharon (Kirk) Griswold, Appleton; Thomas (Linda Rasmussen) Mineau, Green Bay; Michelle (Chris Howe) Mineau, Rochester Hills, MI and Sandra (James) Walls, Appleton; 10 grandchildren, Amy (Glenn) Teske, Scott Drewieske, David Drewieske, Kristin Griswold, Lindsey (Anthony) Palmen, Ryan (Meg) Griswold, Zach Mineau Jenna (Evan Rogaczewski) Mineau, Georgia Howe and Ruby Howe; 13 great grandchildren, Tim, Josh, Taylor and Hunter Teske; Cody, Kiley (Tiffany), Kayla and Trevor Drewieske; Elliot and Genevieve Palmen; Harper, Lily and Desmond Griswold; two great-great grandchildren, Ellie and Kenslie Drewieske; brother, James (Lola) Hayes; sister-in-law, Florence Hayes; brother-in-law, Robert Mineau; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret (Joseph) Jacquart and Helen (Myles) Koranda; brothers, Willard Hayes, Alvin Hayes, Harvey Hayes, Ralph (Mary Ann) Hayes and Robert (Ann) Hayes; sisters-in-law, Mary (Arthur) Gering, Elizabeth (Paul) LeBreck and Monna Mineau; brothers-in-law, Fr. David Mineau, John (Margaret) Mineau and Clifford (Betty) Mineau; and a great-great granddaughter, Aubrey Drewieske.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at. St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, 650 S. Irwin Ave., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.  Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Finian Zaucha, OFM officiating.  Burial will take place in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.
