James M. “Jim” Kollman
James M. “Jim” Kollman, 67, formerly of Green Bay, died at his home Thursday, April 8, 2021. He was born August 22, 1953, to Milton P. and Lanora A. (Deschane) Kollman. After graduating from Premontre High School in 1971, Jim served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and the First Good Conduct Award during his time stationed at Camp Pendleton, California and abroad. After his honorable discharge, Jim worked with his father at Reiss Coal Company. He began working for Wisconsin Public Service in 1980, and retired from there as a Senior Plant Operator.
Jim married Sharon “Sheri” Jones on June 24, 1978. The union was blessed with two daughters. Jim loved his girls, and found being a Pop-Pop just as rewarding. He adored his grandbabies and as they grew, attended every softball, baseball, volleyball, basketball, football, and track games, as well as concerts and other school activities. Cherished family time was spent at the Kollman family cabin near Chute Pond-a tradition that began when Jim was a child. The family also liked to gather at his retirement home near Oconto. A true Wisconsinite, Jim loved his Packers, Brewers and Badgers.
He will be missed by his wife, Sheri; daughters Becki (Tony) Tomcheck of Oconto and Stephanie (Mark) Herr of Gillett; his grandchildren (and best friends), Brooke, Colton, Nicole, Tyler, Melina, Nathan, Samantha, Taylor and Brandon; one great-grandson, Malakai; his sister, Mary (Fred) Strenski; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Mary Ellen Kollman, Mickey (Ed) Russell and Steve (Dawn) Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Glenn Kollman.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Full Military Honors will conclude the services. To send online condolences visit www.prokowall.com.
