Ramona Jahnke

Ramona M. Jahnke, 92, Green Bay, met her savior in heaven on Monday, April 26, 2021. She was born on July 26, 1928 in Green Bay to the late Robert and Martha (Derbique) Sprague. Ramona was a graduate of East High School. On September 8, 1945 she married Richard Jahnke in Canton, MO. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2009. Ramona was very competitive and loved playing cards and board games, loved going on walks with her husband. When she started having great grandchildren, she began crocheting the most adorable infant sweaters. For over 25 years she crocheted many infant sweaters for family and friends. Ramona enjoyed listening to music, especially those that were popular in her younger years. Her lemon meringue pie was a favorite of her grandchildren.

Ramona was a member of the Rebekah Lodge 185 for many years. She loved traveling especially to Germany, France and to Grandma’s homeland of Belgium when they visited extended family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Richard would bring the grandchildren up to the cottage in Pembine year-round and enjoyed many outdoor activities. Ramona also enjoyed spending time with her sisters and brother. She will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her six grandchildren, David (Paula) Berken, Michael (Tracy) Berken, Ann Fieldhack, Jane Lee, Catherine and Elizabeth Abitz; six great-grandchildren, Emily (Brett), Alissa (Justin), Sullivan, Madelon (Kevin), Jake and General. She also has two surviving sisters; Judy (Ron) Campshure and Caroll (Otis) Wessely; sister-in-law, Ethel Mae Maccaux; son-in-law Timothy Berken and special nephew, Michael Van Miller; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Cheryl Berken, Kathleen Fieldhack and Mary Beth Abitz; her grandson, Robert Joseph Berken, and brother, Robert Sprague; sisters, Patsy (Fritz) Frederick, Vivian (Lee) Van Miller and Donna (Carl) Service; brother-in-law, Glenn Maccaux.

Visitation will be held at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Funeral service 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Ellisen officiating.
