Janice B. Counard, 87, Humboldt, passed away on April 29, 2021.  She was born on March 27, 1934, in Two Rivers to the late Emil and Gertrude (Scheuer) Ellerman.

Janice worked for Northwest Airlines in Chicago for ten years.  During that time, she enjoyed traveling to Europe, South America, the Caribbean and Alaska and immersing herself in the cultures and histories of the countries she traveled to.  On one of her trips to Peru, Janice met her first husband, Roberto Fung, who was her tour guide in Lima where they were married.

In 1976 they moved to Green Bay and opened a craft shop “Casa Peru” on Pine Street.  After the shop closed Janice worked for several travel agencies in the area.  On September 8, 2006, Janice was married to Weston Counard at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Green Bay.  Together they enjoyed traveling and go out to the supper clubs.  Her last place of employment was T.J. Max, where she worked for six years.  Janice loved to bake, and at Christmas time all her friends received goodies.  She was particularly known for her lemon and pecan bars!  She was interested in many things such as, classic music, playing piano, gardening, geography, archeology, history and meeting new people.

Janice will be deeply missed by her husband, Wes; three nieces and a nephew; and close family friend, Lynn Lensmire.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Janice is preceded in death by her sister, Loyla (Milton) Barry.

Visitation will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5930 Humboldt Rd., Luxemburg, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, with Rev. Carlo Villaluz officiating the Funeral Mass, assisted by pastoral minister, Cheryl Maricque, at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Two Rivers.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.Prokowall.com.
