Ronald J. Soletske, 87, a gentle soul, Hobart resident, formerly of Green Bay, took his last breath on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.  He was born on December 8, 1933, in Green Bay to the late Edward and Irene (Le Mieux) Soletske.  Ron had a passion for dancing and performed on numerous shows before he graduated high school and joined the U.S. Army.  While serving in the Army, he was stationed in Germany where he met and married Gerda Pister on December 24, 1955.  She preceded him in death on March 12, 2004.  After completing his service, he and Gerda returned to Green Bay and raised five children.  He worked at Fort Howard Paper Company for 36 years until his retirement.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling.

He is survived by his five children, Irene (Patrick) Liebman, Green Bay; Ronald (Ida) Soletske, Coleman; Mark Soletske, Marinette; Keith (Rose) Soletske, Green Bay; and Paul Soletske; nine grandchildren, Hattie and Beau; Travis, Chad and Troy (and their mother, Julie); Katie and Derek; Emily and Alex (and their mother, Jean); nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Beverly (Tom) Gage; close friend, Roger VanArk; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Shelia Soletske; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Hoffman.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, private services were held.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home assisted the family.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

To Hattie, Patrick, past and present staff at Emerald Bay Assisting Living and the Heartland Hospice team, I cannot thank you enough for all of the care and support.  I couldn’t have done this journey without you.  All my love, Irene.
