Albert Allyn Slang, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 4:10 a.m. while holding the hand of his beloved son, AJ, and listening to “Halleluiah Chorus” by Tabernacle Choir. He was born in Suring, WI on June 16, 1934, to the late Albert L. and Ruth E. (Kingston) Slang.

Albert was a graduate of Suring High School, Class of 1952. He was the school’s head trumpet player and was Class President. Albert later graduated from UW Madison with a degree in mechanical engineering. For 35 years, he enjoyed a career in leadership with Wisconsin Public Service. In 1963, Albert married Lynda Trojack.  She preceded him in death on March 12, 2012. Together, along with their 4 children (including twins) they enjoyed traveling, skiing, and family events. In 1992, Albert married Caren Culp. They too enjoyed traveling and even traveled to Norway with an aunt, Dora Slang, and a cousin, Jeanette Kootaka.

Albert was an active and beloved member of Bethel Baptist Church and was in leadership for 50 years with the local chapter of Gideon’s International. He could always be found whistling and toe tapping to a happy tune.

Kirk Leach officiating. Burial will be in Maple Valley Lutheran Cemetery in Suring. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com. In keeping with Albert’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations to Gideon’s International for Bible placement would be appreciated.

Albert’s family extends a special word of thanks to Pastor Kirk Leach, Autumn Grimm, and the wonderful nursing staff of Country Villa Assisted Living in Pulaski.

Albert will forever be whistling and toe tapping to a happy tune as he is welcomed into Heaven!
