Carol Berken

Carol A. Berken, 85, passed away Saturday morning, May 22, 2021.  She was born October 16, 1935, in New London to Lawrence and Cora (Becker) Thebo.  As a young woman, Carol married Robert Terrien.  The couple had five boys, Larry, Bobby, Craig, Ron and Don.  The family lived on the Northeast side of Green Bay.  Sadly, two sons preceded her in death, Craig as an infant, and Bobby at the age of 44.  Later in life, Carol married James Berken who also preceded her in death.

Carol worked as a cook for Green Bay landmarks such as the Downtowner, the Radisson and Addo’s Pizza.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her and she enjoyed spending time with them.  She loved to play cards with the neighborhood ladies on Smith Street, bingo with Pete and Marie and most recently, cards with her friends at Woodland Park Apartments where she currently resided.  She also loved to travel often, many of those trips to Branson. 

Those left to celebrate her memory include son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Chris (Letourneau) Terrien, their children, Joe (Jessica) Terrien, Laura (Phillip) Lotto and Ricky (Kate) Terrien, their grandchildren, Gus, Franny and Claribel Terrien, Elliott, Gertie, Gwen and Saffron Lotto, Jasper and Juniper Terrien; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Chris (Borski) Terrien, their children, Brandon Terrien, Tyler (Krista) Hoelscher, Eva Cannon and Emma Cannon, their grandchild, Eli Hoelscher; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Cindy (Koch) Terrien, their daughter, Michelle (Reuben) Nimmer, their grandchildren, Alaina, Amelia, Asher and Alexander Nimmer; Bobby’s son Brett (Nicole) Terrien and their children, Andrew Mand, Maddox Terrien, Simon Rossich, and Amelia Terrien; one brother, Mark Thebo (Ethel) of Bastrop, TX; many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, George (Ione), Roger (Lee) and Bill (Gladys) Thebo and two sisters, Marie (Pete) Poquette and Dorothy LeGros.

There will be a Memorial Gathering from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday May 27th at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:30 a.m.   Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.  To send online condolences visit www.prokowall.com.
