Carol M. Schenk, 75, Green Bay resident, died Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Aurora Baycare in Green Bay due to complications from Covid-19. She was born April 4, 1948, in Green Bay to the late Francis and Joyce (Magley) Heyrman. Carol married Robert J. Schenk on December 30, 1967. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2015.

Carol enjoyed children of all ages, so much that she started an in-home daycare. She took pride in taking care of many great children and families. Carol also loved to sing, knit and spend time with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter Shannon and her husband John Umentum; grandchildren: Tyler (Bryanna) Umentum; Patrick Umentum and special friend, Kendall Sarazin; Michael (Jessica) DeGrave, Madeline (Carlos) Nolasco, Meghan Mott and Preston Schenk; Hannah Johanski and Ian Johanski; great grandchildren, Mason and Noah Umentum; her siblings: Linda (Dennis) Dugan; Randy (Ronda) Heyrman; Gerry (Karen) Heyrman; Teresa (Terry) Zarnoth and Mary (Dan) Johanski; in-laws: Clyde Hellmann; Hank Wuest; Darrell Marcelle and Craig Schenk; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Donna Marcelle, Elaine Wuest and Jeanne Hellmann; niece, Jennifer Eibenholz and her in-laws, Gerald and Jayne Martin.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Wednesday, April 19, from 5:00-7:30 pm. Funeral Service 7:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Sr. Helen Keyzer officiating. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Carol’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her family and friends that came to visit or send cards during her nine years in long term care. The former employees of Bornemann Senior Communities, the staff at Odd Fellows Nursing Home and the doctors, nurses and staff on the third floor at Aurora Baycare.
