Christine “Critters” Mary (Gillis) Piontek passed away Saturday, June 11th, 2022, at the age of 72 after a long battle with breast cancer.

Chris was born on August 21, 1949 in Green Bay, to Walter and Eileen (Hilton) Gillis.  She was happily married to her Preble High School sweetheart, Mark Piontek, for 54 years and they resided in Green Bay.  She worked as the business manager at Park West Dental and ended her career working for Aurora Hospital in the business office; though she and Mark continued to volunteer at Aurora for many years.

Chris loved to crochet baby caps for hospital newborns, spend time with her granddaughters, ride ATV’s with her husband and friends, and spend time at their cabin in Lakewood, WI.  She and Mark were active members at Peace United Methodist Church and participated in the choir and administrative rolls for the church.  She enjoyed her weekly coffee-times remotely with her daughters and spending time with her “coffee group”.  Chris and Mark loved their annual vacations to Maui, HI and met many great friends there.  Chris always welcomed anyone and everyone to holiday get-togethers and always wanted people to know that they were loved.  She and Mark always had so much fun together doing random things like making snow angels, bowling on Wii, doing puzzles together.  Chris loved taking care of her flower garden.

Chris is survived by her husband Mark; daughter Molly (Scott) Paradise, De Pere; son Aaron (Mara) Piontek, Green Bay; daughter Heather Piontek, San Francisco, CA area; daughter Jenny Hickey, Philadelphia, PA area; granddaughters Emma and Sydney Paradise, sisters Fran (John) Arendt, Nancy (Bill) Koebel, brother Dan (Mary) Gillis, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eileen Gillis, her sister Amy Weber VandenHouten, her in-laws Joseph and Esther Piontek, and her dogs Ginger and Macey Jane.

No public services will be held.
