Constant “Connie” Vanness, 84, Green Bay resident, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was born March 12, 1938, on the family farm in the Town of Eaton, to the late Louis and Alice (Tilot) Vanness. Connie was a graduate of Luxemburg High School. He married the former “Miss Preble” Rosemary Moureau, on October 26, 1957, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in the Town of Scott. She preceded him in death on May 22, 2022, just prior to their 65th wedding anniversary. Even though Rosemary died earlier this year, they will never have missed a Christmas together, including this one.
Connie was employed by the Konop Companies for over 40 years until retiring in 2003. He and Rosemary enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and can proudly say they traveled to all 50. Connie spent many hours in his yard. There was always something to prune, plant or cut to keep it up to his expectations. He was an active member of St. Bernard Parish for many years and their Knights of Columbus Council # 10243. More recently he and Rosemary were attending Masses at St. Mary Church in Ledgeview.
He is survived by his children: Steve (Sharon) Vanness; Debbie (Darrell) Lichtwald; Christine (Kevin) Sticka; Cindy (Antony Reyes) Vanness and Lynn (Matt) Dalebroux; 14 grandchildren: Adam, Taylor, Andrew, Eric, Loren, Alicia, Justin, Kendra, Courtney, Heather, Alexia, Emilio, Madeline and Elizabeth; 13 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Wendy Vanness; brother, Lawrence Vanness ; brother-in-law Richard (Joan) Moureau; sisters-in-law: Doris Bosetski; Rita Jauquet and Loretta (Dale) Vanderkin; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Vanness; brothers, Clarence (Pat) Vanness; and Joe Vanness; sisters: Marie (Clarence) Marchant, Anna (Alvin) Kugel, Janet Vanness and Rosemae (Louis) Schlies; his in-laws, Joseph and Mamie Moureau; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Walter (Rita) Moureau; Sister Mary John “Grace” Moureau; Marilyn (Milton) Craanen; Judy (Darrell) Lardinois; Shirley (Richard) Bielinski; Joyce (Carl) Berg; Bernice (Robert) Jacobs; Jean (Donald) Smits; Stanley Bosetski; Orlin Pirlot and Peter Jauquet.
Friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Dr., Ledgeview on Saturday, December 17, from 9:00-10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev.
