David A. Kugel,71, Green Bay resident, died Sunday, September 10, 2023, at a local hospital. He was born October 7, 1951, in Green Bay to the late Louis and Mildred (Winiecki) Kugel. Dave graduated from St. Mary of the Angels grade school and Premontre High School graduating in 1970. He married the former Suzanne Zimonick on June 23, 1973, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.
Dave was employed by Fort Howard Paper Company, now, Georgia Pacific, until his retirement in 2016. He took great pride in his home, especially in his flower and vegetable gardens, tomatoes and cucumbers being his specialty. Dave was beyond passionate about the Packers and enjoyed sharing “Ice Bowl” memories as well as why Brett Favre was better than Aaron Rodgers. He was a family man and made his grandchildren a priority always giving them a little extra something special. Dave was a member of St. Bernard Parish.
He is survived by his wife Sue and their three children: Chris Kugel; Adam Kugel and Carrie (Chris) Voskuil, all of Green Bay; five grandchildren: Sydney and Brandon Kugel; Kendyl, Bryce and Elinn Voskuil; two sisters, Shirley (David) Lynch and Kathleen (Robert) Janssen; 2 brothers-in-law, Larry (Sue) Zimonick and Mike (Debbie) Zimonick; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane on Friday, September 15, from 9:30-11:15 am. Funeral Mass 11:30 am Friday at the church with Rev. Adam Bradley officiating. Online condolences may be sent to Dave’s family at www.prokowall.com.
