Delores M. Watzka, 91, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. She was born on February 17, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Frank and Irene (Wertel) Nemetz. On May 8, 1954, she married Merle Watzka at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pine Grove. Delores worked at Packer City Motel for 15 years and at Wally’s Spot Supper Club for over 40 years, retiring one day before her 88th birthday. She loved playing bingo and cards, especially canasta with her family. Delores enjoyed cooking, baking and cleaning. She stayed active by participating in different walk-a-thons. Delores was very fashionable and had a beautiful sense of style. Many hours were spent at the coffee clutches with her sisters and friends. She was quite the firecracker and will be deeply missed by her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Merle; children, Brian (Caroline) Watzka, Darrell (Holly) Watzka and Jody (Dale) Boucher; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria (Richard) Warden and Betty (Richard) Conard; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 (which would have been Delores and Merle’s 67th anniversary) at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Burial will take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.
