Don Dale Rheingans, 62, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 22, 2021, due to an accident, with his family by his side. He was born March 1, 1959, to Donald and Pauline (Sterwalt) Rheingans. Don graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1977. He had many passions in life including hunting and fishing with his sons, bowling, gardening, camping, and cheering on the Packers. Don was extremely proud of his 1969 Dodge Charger which he fully restored. He also could build and fix just about anything, and throughout his life, built many homes and helped others with their own. He had recently retired from Peterson Welding and Machine.
Don married Julie (Kinnard) Champeau 19 years ago and has two wonderful sons whom he is extremely proud of, Alex and Luke (special friend Julia Vine). He is also survived by their mother Paula Aulik, stepsons Matt (Jodi) Kinnard and Ryan Champeau, grandsons Brady, Levi, Heath, Joel, and Charlie; his mother, Pauline Roelandts; sisters, Donna (Jeff) Westphal, Diane (Brian) Olivi, Doreen Rheingans and brothers, Dave Rheingans, Daryl (Rhonda) Rheingans; mother-in-law, Janice (Peter) Reynolds; father-in-law, Allen (Dotty) Kinnard, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy (Bob) Rollin, Sue (Tom) Pike, Bill (Pam) Kinnard, Gerry (Deb) Kinnard, and Tom Kinnard, many nieces and nephews. Don also has a special second family including Barb DeNoble, Pat (Sue) DeNoble, and Joe (Deanne) DeNoble, and friends Tony Weigert, Greg Pangrazzi, and Bob Costello.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Dale Rheingans, and second father, Roger DeNoble.
There will be a memorial gathering to celebrate Don’s life and honor his memory from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. To leave an online condolence visit www.prokowall.com.
Don was always willing to lend a helpful hand during his life and his final selfless act was to donate organs and tissue to save numerous lives. We are grateful Don’s spirit lives on in those who received his gift of life.
