Donald M. Feldhausen

Donald M. Feldhausen, 89, died Saturday morning, June 15, 2019, at a local hospital.  Don was born in Green Bay on April 20, 1930, and was adopted as an infant by the late Jules and Clara (Martin) Feldhausen.  Don graduated from Central Catholic High School class of 1948, and then attended St. Norbert College.  Don played football at both schools and worked as a caddie for Shorewood Golf Course. Don had a beautiful voice and, in his youth competed in singing competitions at WBAY Auditorium, where he won many awards.  He joined the ROTC while in high school and served in the Wisconsin National Guard 32nd Division from January 1951 to January 1954.
     On June 23, 1951, Don married Marianne Joly at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Green Bay.  Don was a manager for Factory Tile Warehouse for many years before starting his own business, Super Tile and Carpet Center on University Ave, which he owned and operated for over 20 years.  He also worked for H. J. Martin & Sons until his retirement.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to his trailer on White Potato Lake.  Don also loved playing cards, especially with his poker club.  He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Parish, and sang in the men’s choir for many years.  He later joined Resurrection Catholic Parish.  He will be remembered as a kind, gentle and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
     Don is survived by his children; Susan (Gerald) Harris, Ledgeview. Catherine (Earl McDonell) Feldhausen, Winneconne, Lynn (David) Tellock, Green Bay, Joseph (Jennifer) Feldhausen, Appleton; grandchildren, Dawn (Scott) Forbes, Julie Harris, Benjamin (Juli) Prevost, Danielle (Brian) Kratzke, Rebecca (Ryan) Mielke, Michael Mott, John Feldhausen, Kate Feldhausen; step-grandchildren, Jody (Nathan) Hass, Matthew (Lychelle) Tellock, Katherine Tellock, Eleanor Tellock; great-grandchildren, Autumn and Amber Forbes, William and Robert Donaldson, Nathan, Katelyn, Caleb and Analeigh Prevost; step-great-grandchildren, Kayla (Matt) Wolf, Victoria Cram, Zachary, Claire, Sarah and Jacob Hass, Natasha and Sheila Tellock; a brother-in-law, Charles Garot; and his longtime friend, Wannie Butterfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne; a son, John.
     Friends may call at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the church, with the Rev. James Feely officiating.  Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Don’s family extends a warm thank-you to the staff of Bellevue Retirement Home, to the staff of Aurora BayCare Neuro I.C.U. and especially to Wannie Butterfield, the angel Mom sent from heaven, and her family, who made Dad so happy for the last 18 years.
