Doris Rommel

Doris C. (Adriansen) Rommel, 91, was born to eternal life on Saturday, June 15, 2019. The daughter of the late William and Alma (Kriescher) Adriansen, she was born on August 1, 1927, in Green Bay. Doris attended St. John’s Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1946. She married William B. Rommel on May 7, 1949, at St. John’s and was a member of the Altar Society at St. Philip the Apostle Church. After Bill’s death she returned to St. John’s to attend Church with her sisters Lucille and Ruth. Doris was active as a volunteer at St. John’s Homeless Shelter working in the Laundry. She took pride in working with the Love-Life Program making many Baby Blankets. Doris also enjoyed many years of bowling and lots of weekends with Bill, children, grand and great-grandchildren at the cottage “up North” at Lakewood.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine (Tom) Feldhausen, West Palm Beach, FL; three sons, Daniel (friend Kim) Rommel, Elkhart Lake, WI, Rodney (fiancé Donna) Rommel, Suamico, Roger (Beth) Rommel, Sheboygan; 5 grandchildren, Nicole Rommel, Aaron Rommel, Bobbi (Adam) Norwitch, Scott (Jillian) Feldhausen, Matthew Rommel; 6 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Noah, Caleb, Lyla, Brayden, Jerry; also survived by sisters, Lucille Britten and Ruth Adriansen; brothers, Ronald (Mary) Adriansen, Donald Adriansen; along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents; sisters, Eunice Adriansen, Rosemary (Ralph) Vandenbush; brother, William (Beverly) Adriansen; brother-in-law, Albert Britten; nephews, Philip Britten and Allan Johnson; along with many other relatives and friends.

Friends may gather at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St, on Thursday, June 20, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday morning at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 413 St. John St, from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
