Dr. Joseph G. Dalsing, D.D.S, S.C., 63, Green Bay resident, passed away unexpectedly from a massive cardiac event on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.  He was born on August 5, 1957 in Dubuque, Iowa to the late Vincent and Nellie (Loeffelholz) Dalsing.  Joe was a graduate of Wahlert High School in Dubuque, Iowa.  He graduated from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin for undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Science degrees.  On September 25, 1982, he married Lois Gies in Milwaukee.

In 1983, he and Lois moved to Green Bay and he began his own dental practice which continued for 38 years.  He achieved his Fellowship status in San Francisco in 2015.  During his career he was involved in many volunteer activities and pro bono dental services including at the N.E.W. Dental Clinic at NWTC.  Joe was a philanthropist and supported many organizations including the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and Green Bay YMCA.  He visited impoverished communities abroad providing and teaching dental care.  He supported youth groups in the community and baseball programs for all ages.

Joe loved vegetable gardening, hiking and biking with Lois, kayaking and taking their dogs for walks.  He enjoyed the mountains, visiting state parks and had a passion for music and sports trivia.  Every evening he chose a vinyl LP at random and danced with Lois.  Joe took guitar lessons, and said it aided his hands, which were important in his profession as a dentist.  He looked forward to the Thursday Study Club with friends and associates.  His community garden plot at Langdale School will be continued.  He was a patient and generous man and a loving, fun uncle to his many nieces and nephews.  Joe generously chose to donate his organs.

He is survived by the love of his life of 40 years, Lois Gies,; siblings Patricia (Bobby) Franklin; Darlene (Gerald) Koppes and their children, Nicholas and Christopher (Rebecca) and their daughter Claire; Dr. Michael (Rosa) Dalsing and their children, Jessica (Aaron) Brown and their children Ella, Evan and Elliott.  Rachael (Richard) Shasteen and their children Lane and Josephine; Heather (Dr. Alexander) Kuzma and their children, Grace and Eleanor; and sister, Theresa; niece Candice Ortega-Dalsing (fiancée, Katie Beth Umlor); sister-in-law, Linda Gies and her children, David Stevens and Kelly (Anthony) Benedicto; brother-in-law Mike Stevens; aunt-in-law, Frances Carrozza and her son, Robert; his beloved dog, Sasha; and many other relatives and friends.
