Earl “Skip” Place Miller, Jr, 74, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, January 16, 2020. He was born in Trenton, MI on October 21, 1945, to the late Agnes (Coyle) and Earl Place Miller, Sr. On August 24, 1968, he married Carol Miller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Michigan, they shared 51 loving years together. Earl served his country with the U.S. Army from 1972 until his Honorable Discharge in 1976. He retired from Conger Industries after 22 years. In his younger years he liked to hunt and fish, and when his boys were in Boy Scouts, he never missed an outing. Earl made six trips out to the Sturgis rally on his Harley Davidson motorcycle; he enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and reading science fiction books. He made many good memories trail riding in the Jeep. Earl had a knack for fixing cars and loved to share his knowledge about them. His greatest pride was spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol; and four sons, Earl Miller III, Phoenix, AZ; Brian (Lisa) Miller, Surprise, AZ; Jason (Karen) Miller and Matthew (Kathy) Miller, both of New Franken, WI; three grandchildren, Jordan (special friend McKenzie Tuttle), Mason, and Carson; sister-in-law, Bonnie Miller; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and the family dog, Fritz.

Earl was preceded in death by his brother Gregory Miller; sisters, Maxine Miller, Diane Light, and Judy Hartley.
