Elaine DeKeyser

Elaine M. (LaLuzerne) DeKeyser, 81, passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at a local hospital.  She was born April 8, 1942, in Kewaunee County to Gordon and Mildred (Gilson) LaLuzerne.  The family lived in Rosiere and Brussels where Elaine graduated from Brussels High School with the Class of 1960.  On May 30, 1960, she married Larry DeKeyser at St. Francis Catholic Church.  The couple lived in Namur and Green Bay before settling into their home in Dyckesville, enjoying 31 years of life on the bay.  Elaine loved being a homemaker, wife, and mother.  She especially loved taking care of her grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma Daisy.

Elaine and Larry wintered in Florida for years.  Her faith life was important to her and she was an active member of St. Louis Parish in Dyckesville, serving on the funeral luncheon committee for years.  She looked forward to getting together with her Red Hatter friends.

She will be missed by her husband of 63 years, Larry DeKeyser; her children, Dean (Laurie) DeKeyser and Brenda (John) Prochniak; five grandchildren, Brooke (Paul) Maass, Ben Wilmet, Murphy Prochniak, Courtney DeKeyser and Chelsea (Grant) DeKeyser-Fischer; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrel (Elaine) LaLuzerne; two sisters-in-law, Elain LaLuzerne and Johanna DeKeyser; nieces, nephews and special friends, Linda Conner and Darice and John Bunker.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Wilmet; her parents; two brothers, Gary (Susan) and Tom LaLuzerne and a brother-in-law, Sanford DeKeyser.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, N8726 County Line Road in Dyckesville.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Rommel R. Dacoco officiating.  Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family.
