Florence J. Worachek, 89, Green Bay resident, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at a local hospital. She fought her battle with cancer as she lived her life, belligerent and feisty, right to the end! Flo was born April 30, 1933, in Forestville to the late Eugene and Lucy (Baudhuin) Lampereur.
She graduated from Brussels High School in 1951 and moved to Green Bay to work. She met Donald Worachek at a dance, and they married on April 30, 1952, and settled in Algoma. Flo raised four sons and guided lots of the neighborhood kids. Donald preceded her in death November 8, 1999. She was employed at Katies Kitchen, Algoma Nursing Home and River Hills Motel all located in Algoma. Flo loved her friends at Fort Howard Apartments, Bill, Darrell, Shirley, Gail and the team.
She is survived by sons and: Michael (Marcia); Mary (Wayne) Zastrow-Worachek and granddaughter, Cassie Worachek, all who cared for her in both good and bad times; Mark (Mary) and Dennis (Barb); grandchildren: Tina, Cassie, April, Cassandra, Ashley, Amanda, Angie, James and sasha and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Donald, son, Wayne; her brother, Norbert (Marie) Lampereur and her sister, Norma (Eddie) Soquet; nephew, Marty Lampereur along with several of Donald’s family members.
Friends may call at Nicolet Memorial Gardens, 2770 Bay Settlement Rd, from 10:00 am until 12 noon on Monday, June 13. Memorial service will be held at 12 noon with Sue Costello officiating. Entombment to follow. Online condolences may be sent to Flo’s family at www.prokowall.com.
Flo’s family would like to thank Dr. Mortara and his nurse Carrie, as well as the Bellin Cancer Center, Bellin Hospital staff and Unity Hospice for all the love and care given to Flo on her journey. She is now dancing polka’s eating sweets and drinking homemade beer!
