Fred D. Gerondale, 73 of Green Bay, WI, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, June 17th, 2022.

Fred was born in Appleton, WI on March 2nd, 1949, to late parents Fred J. Gerondale and Armella Lamers. He attended elementary school at St. Mary’s Grade School and later went on to graduate from Premontre High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly continued to serve his country for years to come in the Navy Reserve, SeaBees, and Marines.

On January 17th, 1970, he married Kathleen A. (Berendsen) Gerondale and had two beautiful children. When he got out of the Navy he worked for WOS Optical for many years. He later decided to further his education while working for Wang Laboratories and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Lakeland College. Consequently, he worked in Brown County’s IT Department where he was able to contribute to the setup of the 911 center, which Fred considered one of his greatest achievements.

In his freetime, he was a proud member of the American Legion 0011, the Vietnam Veterans-Chapter 224, and the Moose Club. Additionally Fred loved spending time at the cottage. He took joy in being on the water, whether it be sailing, fishing, or swimming in the lake with his family. In more recent years he could be found playing Bocce Ball with friends at The Bar.

Fred or “The Papa”, as his grandchildren like to call him, was a charismatic, caring, and extremely generous man that was loved and will continue to be loved by so many.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Gerondale; his children, Fred (Jessika) Gerondale and Stacy (Robert) Allaire; his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ross Kinate) Gerondale, Allison Gerondale, Phillip Blink, Gavin (Brianna) Blink; his great-grandchildren, RJ, Rowan, Abel, Lily, and Emmett; and some of his very close friends who he considered to be like family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, his in-laws, Ray and Dorothy Berendsen, as well as close friends, Niles Delfosse and Tony Le Comte.
