Gary J. Hoffman, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born to the late Leo and Alice Hoffman on March 7, 1941. Gary grew up on the family farm in Rio Creek, Wisconsin and on January 16, 1960, he married Joanie Heim at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Casco, WI. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2021. Gary worked a few different jobs before becoming a truck driver for Schneider National until 1980 when he suffered a massive heart attack and could no longer work.  He overcame many health issues over the years with the help of his loving wife and children. He was very proud of the years that he was a truck driver and loved to tell stories of his days on the road. He always said he would rather be going down the road with his semi steering wheel in his hand than sitting around doing nothing. He also enjoyed listening to the Mark Jirikovec Polka Band, watching Nascar and was a diehard Packer Fan. Most days you could find him wearing his favorite Packer jacket or Schneider hat. He also loved to do puzzles, crafts and became very good at coloring beautiful pictures that were proudly displayed in his room.

Gary will be sadly missed by his daughters, Shelley (Tom) Rahlf, Tracy (Kelly “Bub”) Gerondale; cherished granddaughter, Sophie; and his daughter-in-law, Cathy. He is survived by his siblings, Gloria (Erwin) Depas, Gail (Ed) Treml; brother-in-law, Steve (Sally) Heim, sister-in-law, Mary (Bob) Leiterman and sister-in-law, Lorraine Heim. He is further survived by many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was welcomed in heaven by his two sons, Mark and Chris; son-in-law, Mike Mayer; as well as numerous cherished family and friends.

Family and friends may call at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 510 Church Ave, Casco, WI, on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating. Gary will be buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com
