Gertrude “Gertie” Lotto

Gertrude “Gertie” (Cieslewicz) Lotto, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, October 30, 2022. She was born on April 17, 1935, in the Town of Eaton to the late Max and Rose (Piszczek) Cieslewicz where she was raised on the family farm. On October 3, 1959, she married Russell “Russ” Edward Lotto at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Gertie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a graduate of Luxemburg Casco High School.

She worked at numerous businesses in the Green Bay area while raising their children, including working for her brother Jerry, at Hansen’s Bakery, Godfather’s Pizza, and Seroogy’s. Then she lovingly cared for her grandson Branden. Gertie was a member of St Matthew Parish.

She is survived by her husband of over 63 years, Russ Lotto; two children, Jeff Lotto and Debbie (John) Zimmer and Debbie’s son Branden Boulanger; her brothers, Cyril Cieslewicz and Henry (Mary) Cieslewicz; sister, Susie Olejniczak; brother-in-law, Jim Sigmund; sister-in-law, Della Murphy and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Max and Rose Cieslewicz; and Mitchell and Della Lotto; brothers and sisters: Alex (Helen); Chet (Irene) (Betty); Sylvie (Kathy) (Esther); Jerry (Joan); Margie Sigmund; Lenny (Geneva) and Joe (Mary Ann); sisters-in-law: Joanie Cieslewicz; brother-in-laws, Francis Olejniczak; Con (Fran) Lotto; David Lotto; Jim (husband of Della) Murphy; and a son-in-law, Denis Boulanger.

Friends may call at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St. on Friday, November 4, from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial in SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Cemetery, Town of Eaton.
