Irene L. Keehan 97, of Green Bay passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022. Irene was born June 27, 1925 to the late John and Louise Hogan. She attended West High School and married Edmund Keehan on October 11, 1947, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2010.  They were blessed with 5 children and enjoyed traveling with the family and spending time with extended family at the cottage in Door County. After retirement, they enjoyed a break from Wisconsin weather in Florida for several winters. Irene enjoyed volunteering for the St. Philip’s Altar Society where she coordinated the annual garage sale. She also spent many volunteer hours at St. Vincent De Paul, Paul’s Pantry and the St. Vincent’s Hospital Auxiliary.

She will be sadly missed by her children: James Keehan and special friend, Jane Van Ess, Green Bay; Carol (Rich) Koski, Utah, Nancy Melander, California; Mary (Robert) Hunt, Minnesota and John (Amy) Keehan, De Pere; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Pat (Janet) Hogan and Tom (Mary) Hogan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law: Jerome (Bernette) Keehan; Mary (Moe) Berken; Sarah Keehan; Paul (Izzy) Keehan and Tom (Jeanette) Keehan.

Friends may call at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church on Thursday, August 18, from 9:30-11:15 am. Funeral Mass 11:30 am at the church with Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating. Irene’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Ashley Proehl, who attended to Irene’s needs most recently and the nurses and staff at Unity Hospice.
