Jacqueline “Jackie” Van Bellinger

Jacqueline “Jackie” Van Bellinger,76, passed away on March 12, 2022.  Jackie was born in Seymour, Indiana on July 26, 1945, to the late John & Vivian Wesley.  Jackie had two sisters, Pauline Wanderer & Marilyn Murphy.

Jackie attended St. John’s Catholic Grade School.  She then went to St. Joseph’s Academy for one year and then graduated from East High School in 1963.  

On January 8,1966, she married Jim Van Bellinger at St John’s Church.  Jim & Jackie then had two children, Brad, and Meg.  Jackie relished in taking care of her family, going to lunch with close friends and spending time with her sisters and their kids.  Over the course of the year, family, friends, and neighbors always looked forward to receiving her goodies such as her chocolate chip cookies, homemade mustard, salsa and peanut brittle.  Like her mother, she was an avid reader.  Later in life, Jackie loved spending time with her granddaughter and always looked forward to watching her sporting events.  Jackie was the rock of her family and will be sadly missed.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Brad Van Bellinger; daughter, Meg (Bob) Castro; her only grandchild, Sofie Castro, and her sister, Marilyn Murphy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Wanderer; brother-in-law, Jim Murphy, and nephew, Ben Murphy.  In addition, her mother-in-law, Alice Van Bellinger; sister-in-law, Mary Neville and Mary’s husband Harold Neville.  

In the spirit of Jackie’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Jackie would want to be remembered for her love, care and generosity toward her family and friends. 

The family extends their gratitude to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for their exceptional care.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jackie’s honor to support the incredible doctors, nurses, and caregivers at HSHS St. Vincent Regional Cancer Centers as well as future patients who pass through their program.  Memorial donations can be made out to the HSHS St. Vincent/St. Mary’s Foundation with “Cancer Care” or “Oncology” in the memo line, attention to Meggie Cramer, Foundation Director, at PO Box 11706 Green Bay, WI 54307. All donations made will go 100% to the cancer program in Green Bay.
