James Evans “Jim” Brisbane, 78, died Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at his home. He was born May 15, 1945, in Niagara, WI to the late Oten and Ione (Carlson) Brisbane.
Jim had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and going for long drives to find shops and new restaurants to eat at. Jim was always willing to help someone in need. His biggest passion, besides his family, was his backyard which he turned into a Jurassic Park Wonderland. This creation earned Jim the nickname “Jurassic Jim”. Following graduation from high school, Jim served his country in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War as a tank driver.
Jim is survived by his sons, Brian Brisbane and Mark (Melissa) Brisbane; his stepdaughters, Linda (Mike) Baldwin, Virginia (Scott Knoke) Mineau, and Peggy (Mike) VanHout; his grandchildren, Taylor Brisbane, Amanda Baldwin, Matt and Jacky Knoke, Courtney (Isaac) Vania, Christian VanHout, and Sherida (Curtis) Rickling; his great-grandchildren, Zoey, Madix, Kiniili, and Jaxon; his sister, Patricia Kersten; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Bender; his former spouse, Connie Brisbane; and a stepson, Albert Mineau.
Friends and family may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Monday, November 6th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Deacon Bill Burkel officiating. Military Honors to follow.
