Janice Klarkowski

Janice Ann (La Tour) Klarkowski, 88, greeted the angels of heaven and her beloved husband on Saturday, November 11, 2023. She was born on June 28, 1935, in Green Bay, the youngest child to the late Ernest and Mary Louise (Watermolen) La Tour. On November 13, 1954, she married Edward Klarkowski who precede her in death in 2011.

Janices father Ernest was injured in WWI and her family got by on a government pension for his service to his country. Janice learned to garden, preserve foods, sew, knit, crochet, cook, and keep house while she cared for nieces and nephews who were at home during WWII. Janice enjoyed roller skating and dancing in her youth though she started working at a young age, at Reiner’s Grocery, the switch board, and wrapping Christmas gifts at Prange’s and on the family farm with Edward after they were married. She also held employment at Sure Way Food Stores and eventually retired from grocery with Sentry Foods.

Janice will be sadly missed by her children, Steven (Diane) Klarkowski, Elaine (Mike) Kluth, Nancy DeGrave, and Mitchell (Ellen) Klarkowski; grandchildren, Amanda (Steve) Kugel, Andrew (Nori) Kluth, Heidi Klarkowski, Amber (Nick) Brunette, Timothy (Jennifer) Lambert Christopher (Tara) De Grave, Bethany (Chris) Koehn, Derek (Robin) Klarkowski, and Bradley Klarkowski; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Brandon, Layla, Wyatt, Madison, Autumn, Blake, Cora, Luke, Adilynn and Isla. She is further survived by  many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Edward; daughter, Mary; brothers, Gerald La Tour, Robert (Rita) La Tour, Edward “Aaron” (Elaine) La Tour, Joseph (Margaret) La Tour; sisters, Marlene (Ken) Marquardt, Jean Weigand, Lenore (Carney) Karnopp, Marjorie (Hank) Vandenput, Vernelda (Chet) Ault, Bernice (Lloyd) Daniels and son-in-law, Mike DeGrave.

Per family’s wishes a Private Funeral Mass was held at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Green Bay. Janice will be entombed at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

The family extends their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Unity Hospice and Patient Pines for the care and compassion given to Janice and her family.
