Jean Lepak

Jean Marie Lepak, De Pere, 91 years old, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt entered into eternal life on September 20, 2023. She was born in Duck Creek to the late Henry and Loraine (Champeau) VandeHei, growing up on the family dairy farm. Jean graduated from West High and completed coursework in finance at the technical school. On November 3, 1951, she married Norbert E. Lepak at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2013.

She enjoyed her years of staying home and raising their four children before entering the workforce. After 25 years of employment with Brown County, she retired as an accountant from Social Services. Life in retirement included community and church volunteer work. Her Catholic faith was central throughout her life and was instilled in her children.  She lovingly cared for many of her grandchildren during her early retirement years. Holidays were steeped in tradition and wonderful memories remain of celebrations with family gatherings and her delicious meals. Jean and Norb attended many Packer games and spent hours viewing and cheering on the Brewers.

Jean is survived by her children: Sharon (Jerry) Butnick; Keith and Clete (Marilyn Ness); cherished grandchildren: Luke (Isabel) Butnick; Joel (Jessica) Lepak; Teresa (Matt) Parson; James Lepak; Taylor (friend Carrie) Lepak; Chris (Kayla) Lepak; Weston (Jessica) Lepak; Trevor (Elaina) Lepak; Amy (Tom) Farvour and Ashley (Nick) Gossen; great grandchildren include Ashton, Ethan, Aidan, Preston and Iris Butnick; Ada, Ruby, and Ellis Lepak; Joanna Parson; Cash and Alivia Lepak, Taitin, Aryha and Linnea; Caleb and Trentin Lepak; Max Farvour; Evelyn and Emma Gossen; daughter-in-law, Lisa (Chris) Vann. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Jim (Jan) Vande Hei; Tom (Mary) Vande Hei; Sally Vande Hei and Agnes Lepak.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband and parents; son, Kevin; daughter-in-law, Ann; grandson, Nathan; sister, Mary Ann (Dave) Dwyer; brother, Reggie Vande Hei; her in-laws, John and Frances Lepak; brothers-in-law and sisters -in-law: Ed Lepak; Louis (Velma) Lepak; Hedwig Lepak; Connie (Windy) Lepak; Antone (Patricia) Lepak; Mary (Les) VandenAvond; Virginia (Albert) Baeb; Florian (Betty) Lepak and Mitchell Lepak.

Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1305 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere on Saturday, September 23, from 9:00 – 10:45 am. Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am Saturday at the church with Fr. James Baraniak O. Praem officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Sheperd Mausoleum.
