Jean Ellen Oleksy, 84, died Friday, June 23, 2023. She was born August 5, 1938, in Kenosha, WI to the late Douglas Orville and Margaret Mae (Hansis) Lloyd.

Jean was a graduate of Mary Bradford High School of Kenosha, Class of 1956. She later attended the Bellin School of Nursing. On May 16, 1958, Jean married Robert “Bob” Oleksy, Sr. at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. After raising five children, she fulfilled a dream of attending UW Green Bay where she received a BS in Early Childhood Education. Some of Jean’s interests were book club reading, family activities, camping and traveling. Most importantly, she will be remembered for being a very positive person who made others feel good, for having a great sense of humor, and for being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jean is survived by her children, Amy (James) Novak, Andrew Oleksy and Debb Schaubs, John (Kristin) Oleksy, Paul Oleksy and Sumedha Ghate; her seven grandchildren, Madeline, Lewis (Shannon), Robert, Mark, Eric, Manali, and Anjali; a newly born great-grandson, Augustus Hughes Oleksy; a brother-in-law, Major General William (Carol) O’Leksy; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Oleksy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Oleksy, Sr.; her son, Robert J. Oleksy, Jr., her parents; brothers, Donald Lloyd and Richard Lloyd; and a sister, Janet (Bruce) Piddington.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Sunday, July 16th for a time of gathering to remember both Jean and Bob, Sr., who passed away in September of 2020 and whose services were postponed due to COVID 19.  The time of gathering will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a Sharing of Memories held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Jean’s family extends a sincere word of thanks to the caring staff of Unity Hospice, ADRC and Meals on Wheels, the staff of Proko-Wall Funeral Home, and especially to all the relatives and friends who extended love and support to both Jean and Bob over the years.
