Jeanne K. Lukes, 98, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022, with her loving daughters by her side.  She was born on July 13, 1924, in Casco to the late Anton and Ella (Ripley) Worachek.

Raised in Slovan, Jeanne attended St. Adalbert Catholic Church and it’s one-room schoolhouse, and helped her parents in their general store and with numerous dances and weddings held at their bar and dance hall.  She graduated from Casco High School and vocational training in Green Bay.

In 1947, Jeanne married and began her fulfilling family life raising 3 daughters, and later helping with 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing piano, listening to music, making jigsaw puzzles (over 1000 for sure) and playing cards.  In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing, biking and trips to the casino (until roundabouts got in the way.)  Jeanne loved the Packer and Brewer games (with TV’s and radio going in multiple rooms so nothing was missed). She enjoyed reading the paper cover to cover, working the daily crossword and saving all family sports clippings and statistics.  She retired from the AT&T Telephone company after many years.

She was always excited to see us, greeting us with big smiles and hugs and her cute sense of humor, hoping we would join in some games.  She never missed the grandchildren’s basketball or soccer games, their dance shows or show choir trips.  Family was certainly the center of Jeanne’s life.

Besides being a devout Catholic, Jeanne was easy-going yet quick to defend her family and friends.  She was strong, yet warm and forgiving, always giving and offering to help while never asking much for herself.  Even in her last months she never lost her sweetness, her sense of humor and her love for the Lord!  She is now safe and joyous in the Place she has wanted to be for many years.

She is survived by her three daughters, Ellen Dymond, Joan (Tom) Olson and Kathy (Greg) Magee; grandchildren, Kim (Doug) Bradac, Kevin (Jeanie Studt) Dymond, Kari (Tony) Kraszewski, Tim (Kathy) Olson, Stephanie and Kristin Olson, Sarah (Braden) Tapani, and Mallory (John) Beck; 12 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruth Lukes, Dick (Rita) Lukes, Charlotte Lukes and Linda (Jerry) Neumann; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Ivan Lukes; sister, Lorraine Enz; brothers, Mark and Smitty Worachek; son-in-law, Mike Dymond; grandson, Dan Olson; brothers-in-law, Dan Enz, Leo and Roy Lukes; sister-in-law, Doloris Worachek and nephew, Paul Lukes.

A private Funeral Mass is being held at a later date.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

A special thank you to the staff at Alpha Senior Concepts and Moments Hospice for their compassionate care.

We will miss you and love you forever!
