Jeanne Marie Smith, 65, passed away at home Monday, August 1, 2022, with her family at her side. She was born July 27, 1957, in Escanaba, MI, to the late Al “Oliver” and Rosalie (Mineau) Couillard. Jeanne had great affection for people and worked as a CNA caring for many people over the years, though her passion was her family. She adored every moment with them and she especially loved to cook for them. Her sincere affection and brute honesty will be deeply missed.
Jeanne will be sadly missed by her children, Kristy (Scott Buckarma) Smith, Jason (Connie Sydmark) Smith, Tammy Smith, and Chad (Madeline Cronin) Smith; grandchildren, Matthew Sydmark, Heather Cummings, Cody Cummings, Brandon Smith, Ashly Robison, Madisyn Amraen, and Dokota Smith; great granddaughter, Jordan Cummings; siblings, Marilyn (Stan Fetterly) Josephs, Nancy (Bob Peterson) Van Ark, Delores (Jim) Shady, Carol, Wanda, Sandy, Patrick, and Al Couillard. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Karen Couillard and her brother, Grover Couillard.
Family and friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until the Parish Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St., from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
