Joan Rose La Tour

Joan Rose La Tour, 82, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023. She was born March 23, 1940, in Green Bay to William “Slim” and Winifred “Honey” (Heath) Wesley.

Joan attended SS Peter & Paul Grade School, and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1958. In 1964, Joan married Richard La Tour at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Green Bay. She was a homemaker until her children were all in school, she then worked for the Green Bay Public School District until her retirement. Family was very important to Joan, who cared for her mother for many years, and who passionately attended her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved spending her time with friends playing cards, volunteering at St. Bernard Catholic Church, where she was a lifetime member, and volunteering at its school.

Joan is survived by her children, David (Jyl) La Tour, Texas, Michael (Cheri) La Tour, Craig (Jen Fibiger) La Tour, and Matthew La Tour; five grandchildren, Ryan and Madison La Tour, Alexis (Bill) Moore and David La Tour, and Brant La Tour;  great-grandchildren, Jackson, Hodge, (with one more on the way); her brother and sister, William (Judie) Wesley and Mary Harms-Franey; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Stan Bogucki, Joan La Tour, and Carla Linssen, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, brothers-in-law, Thomas La Tour, and Harry La Tour, and sister-in-law, Nancy Bogucki.

Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, on Friday, January 27th, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Mark VanderSteeg officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be given at www.prokowall.com.
