John B Anderegg, 72, Green Bay, Husband, Father, Stepfather, Grandfather “Bumpa”, Friend, fell into the loving arms of his Savior on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at home after a valiant fight against cancer.  John was born to the late Florence (Kunutson) Anderegg in July of 1948.  In 1967, he graduated from Preble High School followed by three years of service in the Army during the Vietnam War.  After his return home he obtained a business degree from Lakeland College and married Barbara Salvage.  They had two sons together before Barb passed away in 1987 from cancer.  Upon finding out that a childhood friend was suffering from Alzheimer’s, John found the strength to help care for Gaylen Gerondale and his family as well as his own family.  Eventually, John made a promise to his dying friend that he would make sure that his wife and three children would be taken care of.   On July 14,1989, Mary Ann (La Plant) Gerondale became his everything in their fairytale love story!

John inspired everyone that knew him to do more in life! He attained his pilot license in his early 50’s, completed a century road bike ride at the age of 68 and because he thrived on meeting new people, early into his retirement, he became a Packer Tour guide.  “Welcome to historic Lambeau Field. Home of the 13-time world champion Green Bay Packers.” John became a Booyah Master after years of trials and errors.  He was THE planner of all family gatherings.  His grandchildren meant the world to him.  He and Mary Ann would travel hours for softball games, show choir competitions, donkey races, cheerleading competitions, biking and running races, and so forth.  We always knew he was near when we heard his signature whistle.  Above everything else was his relationship with the Lord.  He was truly God’s servant and the gentle strength of the family.

John is survived by his loving and amazing wife Mary Ann, his sons, John B Anderegg, Jr. (grandson Orin); Jim (Lisa Macpherson) Anderegg (granddaughters, Jasmine and Josie) both of Colorado; Mary Ann’s children that he thought of as his own: Rick Gerondale of Madison, Scott (Bridget) Gerondale (granddaughters Kayla and Elise) of Green Bay, and Sara Gerondale of Green Bay; sisters, Joanne Pasterski of Folsom, CA and Jayne Marler of Green Bay; Mary Ann’s siblings: Gary (Joan) La Plant of Luxemburg; Bill (Jeanine) La Plant; Peter La Plant and Paul (Candace) La Plant all of Green Bay; many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He is reunited in heaven with his mother; first wife; sisters & brothers-in-law Carole (Timothy) Baker, Sandra (Richard) Elgin, Richard Pasterski and Ron Marler; Niece, Lana Holzner and Mother-in-law Dorothy La Plant.

The family would like to thank ALL who were supportive to Mary Ann and John during his illness.  A special thank you to friends, Paul Koch, Randy and Maggie Rettler, Cindy and Brian Buckles; Unity Hospice; and the caring Doctors and staff at Green Bay Oncology.

A time of visitation will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 3186 Eaton Rd, from 2:00-4:00 pm on Friday, April 9, followed by a Celebration of the Resurrection Service at 4:00 pm with Pastor Stephen Sauer officiating.  Masks encouraged. John will be laid to rest at the Shrine of the Good Shepard Mausoleum, in the Town of Scott.
