June Maryann Kashnig

June M. Kashnig, 95, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 31, 2021. She was born June 11, 1926, in Sheboygan to Arno and Clara (Ploetz) Stubenrauch.

June was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1944, and later graduated from Milwaukee State Teachers School in 1948. On August 20, 1949, she married Andrew V. Kashnig in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2006. June worked most of her life as an art teacher. She taught at Dickinson Elementary School, De Pere High School, and St. Norbert College. June painted in an abstract vision and had exhibited heavily in Green Bay and Door County, and occasionally in New York and Milwaukee. She continued to paint a month before her passing. June was the founder of The Art Colony in 1955. In her later years she became very interested in opera when it became available on The Met: Live in HD in cinemas.

June is survived by her two sons, Christopher (Jane) Kashnig, Claude (Gina) Kashnig; and her grandchildren, Casey and Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, and her parents.
