Kathleen “Kay” Blohowiak

Kathleen Mary “Kay” Blohowiak, 77, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28, 2021, after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Kay was born on February 18, 1944, in Green Bay, to the late Harold and Eleanor (Bowers) Brosteau. She attended St. Joseph’s Academy High School, graduating in 1962. The former Kathleen Mary Brosteau married Ronald Leonard Blohowiak in Green Bay on May 22, 1965, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Kay was a loving, compassionate, and caring wife for over 56 years, and a mother, sister, friend, and faithful servant to the Lord Jesus throughout her life.   

 Kay was always active, and was an avid swimmer, skier, and walker. She was a dedicated runner of many 10Ks, including the Bellin, and a participative soccer mom for her three boys. She enjoyed traveling around the country, and to Canada, visiting grandchildren. An enthusiastic Packer fan, she was also a committed supporter of the UWGB Phoenix women’s basketball program. Kay and Ron joined St. Agnes Parish in 1967, where she was a dedicated member and volunteer both in the church and school. She served as a Eucharistic minister, volunteered with the church cleaning crew, helped organize Parish picnics, and provided coaching. With her strong faith, she was a committed adorer at SS Peter and Paul Parish Adoration Chapel in Green Bay.

 Kay is survived by her devoted husband, Ronald. She was a loving mother to her three sons, Mark (Megan), Chad (Janine Walch), and Darren (Jennifer). She was an adoring grandmother to Emma, Aaron, Maria, Abigail, Sarah, Maddox, Preston, and Garrett. She was a loving sister to her brothers Michael Brosteau and Thomas (Bonnie) Brosteau,and sister-in-law to Joann Blohowiak. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Bonnie Brosteau, and two brothers-in-law, Robert Blohowiak and Michael Blohowiak. She was a devoted friend to many and loved by all.

 The family extends their deepest gratitude to all the caregivers at Allouez Parkside Village and Heartland Hospice, especially Jen, for the dignity, kindness and compassion they provided Kay and the family throughout this time.

 Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday, November 4th. A parish wake service will close the evening at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 9:00 -10:45 am. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Friday at the church with Rev. Patrick Beno officiating.
