Our family is saddened to announce that Kathleen “Kathy” (Craanen) Webster, 67, passed away at the Meng Unity Residence Friday, May 10, 2019, after exhausting all treatment options for her multiple illnesses.  She was surrounded by loved ones and at peace when the final moment came.

Kathleen was born October 10, 1951, in Denmark to Clayton and Ardella (Boulanger) Craanen and graduated from Denmark High School.  She married John Hansen and the union was blessed with a son Jesse and a daughter Jennifer.  She later married Cletus Webster and the two were blessed with a daughter Julie.  The two families melded into one, also welcoming step-sons into the fold.  Kathy was a selfless, giving soul.  She opened her home and heart to many foster children over the years, providing the unconditional love they hungered for.  She shared her knack for baking, cooking and gardening with family and friends and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Kathleen worked at a variety of jobs over the years, selling Avon to the ever-expanding group she called friends or caring for people in the assisted living.  She loved to tinker on her hobby farm, peruse the thrift stores, try her luck at the casino, and go for a nice ride in the country.

Survivors include a daughter and two sons-in-law, Jennifer and Travis Moldenhauer and Jason Schweiner; a son, Benjamin Webster; her earth angel, Tammy Brunette; a step-son, Joseph Webster; her grandchildren, Abigail, Alayna, Madalyn, Brooke and TJ; her father, Clayton Craanen; brothers and sisters, Roland (Lois) Craanen, Richard (Melinda) Craanen, Wanda Umentum, Brenda (Bob) Havlovitz, Tammy (Randy) Hermans and Bridget (Chris Kabara) Vandenbush; many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Hansen and Cletus Webster; a son, Jesse Hansen, a daughter, Julie Schweiner and a step-son, James Webster; her mother, Ardella Craanen and a sister, Christine Craanen.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St.  Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Rachel Knoke officiating.  Visitation will continue after the services until 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Denmark Lutheran Cemetery.

The family extends a special thank you to Kathleen’s nephrologists, Drs. Verma and Smith, for the excellent care through the years; the St. Vincent Dialysis Clinic; special caregivers, Dallas, Rebecca and Jessica, and the Jack & Engrid Meng Residence Unity Hospice Care Team for making her final journey dignified and comfortable.  An extra special thank you to her earth angel Tammy who provided day to day care in the gentlest of ways.
